CPC Course

Legal Requirement

CPC or a Certificate of Professional Competence is a legal requirement for all HGV license holders that wish to work and earn a salary as a driver. Those that passed their car test before 1997 and have not held a CPC before will need to do their Initial CPC whereas drivers that passed after 1997 and/or have held a CPC before will do their Periodic CPC

Category C

HGV C2 Training - Vehicles above 7,500 kgs.

A Category C (Class 2) HGV license entitles you to drive vehicles weighing above 7,500 kgs with or without a trailer (trailers must not weight more than 750 kgs). The most common or ‘entry level’ HGV, this license allows you to drive hundreds of different vehicles in a wide range of industries. The license is commonly used for Haulage, Local deliveries, Removals, Construction and many more.

Category C+E (Class 1)

HGV CAT C+E Class 1 Licence Training. Articulated HGV

A Category C+E (Class1) HGV license entitles you to drive any HGV with a trailer. You may also hear this license described as ‘Artic’ short for Articulated meaning that the vehicles separate into both cab and trailer. This license has a maximum earning potential of up to 60k and is commonly used for Haulage, Long distance deliveries, International and tramping work
